Winter Garden Care – Winter is a time when nature sleeps, but for a gardener, it is a time of fierce preparation. Only by taking care of the future well before the cold, you can wait in the spring for lush flowering.
The first to kill is:
cut dry plants and remove them from the soil. Dead foliage and residues of cultivated plants are treasures for pests and diseases. Loosen the soil lightly to make it breathable.
Next is:
after cleaning, it’s time to start feeding the soil. You need to bring compost or well-rotted manure to the garden. Heather, straw, humus, chernozem will fit of the earth to keep it from freezing. Trees and shrubs also need attention. Check if the branches are damaged and cut off any dead or sick branches. Young trees are wrapped in galvanized mesh or whitewashed with lime. Soil and trunks are covered with earth around the trees.
And finally, even the tools used in the garden need care. Clean and dry put in place, and planes must be dried before being put away. Several hours of work guarantee your garden a peaceful wintering and a refreshingly bright awakening in the spring.
